Toby Baldwin
Fred Wright, Of-Counsel
Toby Baldwin
Toby Baldwin is a native of Oklahoma and was
born and raised in rural Oklahoma in Laverne. He attended Phillips
University in Enid and received his bachelors of Science in
Secondary Education. Toby went on to receive a Masters in Sports
Science from the United States Sports Academy. After twelve
successful years working in college athletics, Toby attended
law school to broaden his opportunities in college athletics.
However, once in law school, he fell in love with the law and
the idea of helping individuals in their time of need. Toby
started Baldwin & Associates because he felt a need for
a law practice that focuses on the needs and goals of the client
first. He has proven with his record of successfully representing
numerous clients that if the client is the focus then everyone
wins. With the attitude of “I am employed by the client” he has been able to maintain satisfied clients by doing the
simple things that people want from their lawyer.
When you are choosing a lawyer or a law firm
make sure that you are comfortable communicating with the person
you hire. If you are going to be satisfied when your case is
finished you must be able to talk with your lawyer and your
lawyer talk with you. Passion is the key to being a great lawyer
for your clients. Make sure that the lawyer you choose has the
passion for your case and what you want in the end. Passion
for justice is what the lawyer will need to persevere through
the fight, seeking what is right and just for you. Passion for
the client is what drives a lawyer to be prepared and preparation
is the critical element in winning each case.
The most rewarding aspect of practicing law is being able to help people that have had their lives dramatically
changed because of someone else’s negligence or carelessness.
Each case Mr. Baldwin handles is rewarding to him because he
knows that he has an opportunity correct a terrible wrong and
help the client get back to where they were before they were
injured.
Because of this philosophy Baldwin & Associates have created
a client first law firm that truly enjoys helping people. “Let
me answer any questions that you have and possibly because of
attitude, character and a servant’s heart you may find
a lawyer for life”.
Mr. Baldwin is married to the former Jill Beavers and they have
one son Cade born in 1995. The Baldwin family is members of
New Hope Baptist Church in Duncan.

Fred H. Wright, Jr.
Fred H. Wright, Jr., was born and reared in El Reno, Oklahoma. While there he was an American Legion Award winner, an honor student, played on an undefeated state championship basketball team and scored the first El Reno touchdown in the present football stadium.
He attended undergraduate school at the University of Oklahoma with majors in both finance and economics. He then served three years in the United States Air Force, spending his “bad time” as an intelligence officer in Korea and his “good time” as the Administrative Aid to the Commanding General of Pope Air Force Base in North Carolina.
During his first two years of law school, he attended both the University of Oklahoma and Duke University Law School, where he was a member of the Duke Law Review.
Fred finished law school at the University of Oklahoma and in addition to obtaining his law degree, he served as President of the Student Bar Association, Chairman of the Board of Governors, President of his law fraternity (chosen as the outstanding chapter in the United States during his presidency), a member of the Board of Editors of the Oklahoma Law Review, recipient of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ first prize for a meritorious paper in the field of copyright law, and Co-Editor of the Law School Bulletin. During summer school, he spent some of his “spare time” playing duplicate bridge - he and his partner winning the overall championship for the University summer session.
He began law practice in Duncan, Oklahoma, with the firm of Cund and Garvin. He then joined the trust department of the First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City as a business development and estate planning advisor. He then left banking and became a partner in an Oklahoma City law firm practicing exclusively in the area of tax planning. His work was concentrated in forming and guiding private foundations, estate planning and implementation of multiple corporations in land development and home building businesses throughout the United States.
As the tax law changed, he initiated a new law firm, continuing to specialize in business and tax planning. Once the new business was on a firm foundation, he joined the faculty at Oklahoma City University as an adjunct professor of taxation and for three years taught the courses of “Estate and Gift Taxation,” “Taxation of Corporations and their Shareholders,” and “Taxation of Individuals, Partnerships, Estates and Trusts.”
During the same period, Fred authored lead articles published in the Oklahoma Law Review (“Life Insurance and its Use in Estate Planning” and “Estate Planning for Agricultural Interests”) and in the California Western Law Review (“Professional Corporations, Concepts, Considerations and Practical Implementation”). His keynote presentation to the National Society of Public Accountants’ Annual Conference in Montreal, Canada (“The Role of the Accountant in the Formation and Organization of Professional Service Corporations”) is also published nationally in the proceedings of that conference. He has authored nationally published corporate and executive fringe benefit materials for the Institute of Business Planning and he has lectured extensively in tax planning and trust seminars for the Oklahoma Bar Association, Homebuilders’ Associations throughout the nation, Oklahoma Bankers’ Association, Lawyers’ Tax Groups, and regional life insurance meetings.
